![“[Coaching] it's another way to get to know and work with kids. [It’s a] neat way to interact with students outside an academic environment on [a] sports field, so to speak. I grew up an athlete and know how difficult the game is so just understanding that how difficult the game is, I'm never gonna be upset with anybody on the team if they have a bad shot or a bad day. It’s a huge mental game. It's a game where you compete against yourself more than the other team. Understanding that helps people understand [those] who are on our team. ”

![“I really enjoy that everything is fairly close. It's a fairly small district, but everything is close to each other, and it's nice that we don't have to use cars as much. A lot of things are within walking or biking distance of each other., In previous places I've lived, you've had to drive basically everywhere to get [to] places and to do stuff. It's nice to have something that feels more clean and sustainable.”

![“I try to create an environment in my health classes where my students are connecting with each other so that they can learn more about their own health and wellness through self reflection, collaboration, sharing [and] listening to other people's experiences. It's not all coming from me, it's not just my expertise or my experience, I'm not the center of attention. Instead, they are learning things through conversations with other people.”

![“I just love people, and I'm a people person. I get my energy from other people, and I think that we as people in general have more in common than not. And that's how I stay grounded. I just think that we have more in common than not as humans. I would tell somebody interested in becoming a school receptionist that they need to remember that this is a customer service-based job. It's really important that you focus on one person at a time and make them feel like they are the only person that you're engaging with at that moment. Even though there's a lot going on in this role, it's important to spend time with each individual and provide what it is that they're needing. You don't know what someone is going through. I think genuinely asking someone, ‘What can I do to help change their outlook on their day?’ [Sometimes] we're not really listening for the answer, but everybody's got a story.”
